Why did you choose to practice pediatrics?
I knew that I wanted to be a Pediatrician once I gave birth to my son in my second year of Medical School. The birthing process and becoming a mom brought two loves into my life.
What is most rewarding about your work?
I am able to educate families about the health of their children. The families that I educate are very grateful and show their appreciation with every visit.
How does being a parent help in the way you provide care and work with your patients and their families?
I am able to place myself in the family’s shoes and speak to them in a manner that I would like to be spoken to as well.
When working with your patients and their families, what is your approach?
I let the parents explain to me why they have brought their child in to be seen, I talk to the patient’s who are of age as well. I discuss the examination, findings and then educate them on the treatment plan.
How do you stay healthy and happy?
Spending time with my family and friends, traveling, and playing tennis
